3 Ways to Make a Big Impact
Color Drench Your Rooms
Think about it, you have to paint the trim, walls and ceiling anyway so just have it be the same color. It makes the room feel SO dramatic for a big impact on a small budget. Don’t leave the ceiling either or it feels like your forgot the 5th wall. Go big or go home! It creates the illusion of height and becomes a monochromatic dream. This can be done in any room really but I especially love it in bathrooms, dens and smaller spaces like a powder bath. Now, one tip for this to look it’s best is make sure you have smooth drywall. When you have knockdown or light orange peel it doesn’t look as good.
Wallpaper
I always like adding wallpaper literally anywhere. Bedrooms, bathrooms, dining room. You can’t go wrong. My only ABSOLUTE is do not do an accent wall. Sorry, I said what I said. Do all the walls. Or only the ceiling and have the walls painted if you can’t commit. When you do an accent wall, your eyes go directly at the corners and it feels harsh. I know a lot of people think doing a whole room is too big of a commitment but just do it and it will be great. Life is too short to just live with accent walls because you’re too scared to just go for it.
Window Treatments
Adding the extra layer of window treatments really makes the whole room feel more finished. It helps with light and sound which helps with functionality and it helps draw your eye up which makes the room feel bigger. Drapery panels are something you don’t think matter until they get installed and you automatically think wow this looks so much better! They don’t have to function, just the soft layer of decorative drapes adds a lot to a space!
